New dog breed???

My poor little Aussie/ Doberman mix broke her tail on Sunday night. Spent most of my afternoon at the vet yesterday... and got back home with a... Australian Lion? :-) Fortunately she'll be just fine, but she still can't wag her tail poor thing and that is very hard for her... I guess it feels as bad as it would be for me if I lost my voice...

Little update on Oct 4, 07. Gipsy is fine and active as ever. Her favorite thing is to chase snakes at the back yard... She's smart enough to let me know if we had a bull snake out there and I will "rake" them in a trash can and we'll go and let them back out at the conservation area at night. Garter snakes she carries around and sometimes we have to kill one because she gets little too rough and fatally hurts them... I never kill a snake if I can avoid it!

Poor Girl. How did she break her tail? First time I have heard of this type of injury.

I would think that not wagging her tail would be much like you or I having an injury that requires not smiling when we are really happy. The response is automatic, and then the pain hits. Once again, poor girl....

After a long snowy winter we hit to the doggy park last Sunday... huge wildlife area with a creek running through, more like a big river this time of the year. She had a blast with running, swimming and playing with the other doggies... and seems like she might have landed on her tail real hard or slammed it against a tree or something...

She's a pretty active girl and that's nothing new, the injury is though. She has always been lucky not to hurt herself... and I guess she has to stay away from the doggy park for a couple of weeks :-(

She'll be fine... and she tried to wag her tail a little tonight... I don't think she likes how it looks at all! I think it looks just darn cute! :-)

I hope the dog does not feel too much pain other than personal embarassment
